Turkish Airlines Targets 500 Aircraft by September with Vision to Expand to 813 by 2033, Marking a New Era of Aviation Leadership

Turkish Airlines is on track to achieve a major milestone, expanding its fleet to 500 aircraft by September 2025. The airline has set its sights on an even more ambitious target of 813 aircraft by 2033, coinciding with its centennial anniversary.

Currently, Turkish Airlines operates 492 aircraft, a mix of both passenger and cargo planes. The airline's rapid expansion has been a hallmark of its strategy, with a focus on increasing capacity to meet the rising demand for air travel worldwide. The fleet has grown consistently over the years, starting with 100 aircraft in 2006, doubling to 200 by 2012, and reaching 300 by 2016. By 2023, the fleet expanded to 400, reflecting the airline's commitment to growth and innovation in the industry.

As of late 2024, Turkish Airlines services 352 destinations across 131 countries, making it one of the most extensive networks in global aviation. This vast reach has played a significant role in the airline's financial performance, contributing to a total revenue of $22.7 billion in 2024. This represents an 8% increase from the previous year and an impressive 71% rise from 2019 levels. Despite growing competition, passenger revenue saw a 4% increase, reaching $18.4 billion, underscoring the airline's continued appeal to travelers worldwide.
