This celebration highlighted the strong, ongoing partnership between EVA Air and Houston, marking a decade of fruitful collaboration.
The event also strengthened relationships with local business partners, including those in the passenger and cargo industries. The Houston Zoo was chosen as the venue for two main reasons. First, the zoo will be donating a male bongo antelope to the Taipei Zoo to support their continuous conservation efforts. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by EVA Air President Clay Sun and Houston Zoo̢۪s Kevin Hodge, with several distinguished guests present as witnesses. EVA Air will oversee the safe transportation of the animal to Taiwan, enhancing the Taipei Zoo's bongo antelope population and contributing to global wildlife conservation efforts.
A captivating mural created by Taiwanese artist Bounce and Houston̢۪s GONZO247 was unveiled next. This expansive artwork, covering an entire building wall, blends elements from both the Houston and Taipei Zoos, symbolizing EVA Air̢۪s role as a cultural link between the two cities. The collaboration will continue in October when the artists travel to Taipei to create another mural, further strengthening the cultural exchange between the zoos.
In addition to the anniversary celebrations, EVA Air recently received the SKYTRAX 5-Star Airlines award for ten consecutive years, reaffirming its commitment to delivering world-class service. The airline has been a staple in North America for over 30 years, offering 89 weekly flights from cities like Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. Starting October 3rd, EVA Air will also introduce direct flights from Taipei to Dallas (DFW), further expanding its reach and enhancing connectivity between North America and Asia.
