Malta's tourism sector reached new heights in 2024, welcoming a record-breaking 3.56 million inbound tourists. According to the National Statistics Office, arrivals surged by 19.5% compared to the previous year, placing Malta among the fastest-growing destinations in Europe and the Southern Mediterranean.

Despite the growth in arrivals, the average length of stay declined from 6.8 nights in 2023 to 6.4 nights in 2024. Analysts attribute this trend to increased flight connectivity, enabling visitors to opt for shorter but more frequent trips.

Tourist guest-nights in Malta reached nearly 23 million in 2024, marking a 13% increase from the previous year. The influx of visitors and their increased spending levels contributed significantly to job creation, business growth, and overall economic development.
