On December 22, 2024, the waves at Waimea Bay on Oʻahu’s North Shore roared to life, signaling the start of the world's most revered surf contest—the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational. This prestigious event, named after the legendary Hawaiian waterman and lifeguard Eddie Aikau, once again enjoyed the support of Hawaiian Airlines, its official airline sponsor since 2019.
