Delta Airlines flight DL43 from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Sydney was forced to make an emergency landing after smoke was detected onboard the aircraft. The Airbus A350-900, registered as N514DN, took off just after 9 p.m. on Saturday and returned to LAX approximately 30 minutes later as a safety precaution.

The pilots reported the presence of smoke and declared an emergency to receive priority clearance for landing.
