Vietnam Considers New Visa Policy to Attract More Indian Tourists to Da Nang

Vietnam is considering a new visa policy aimed at attracting more tourists from India, a country with a rapidly growing travel market.

Le Quang Bien, Vietnam's Consul General in Mumbai, highlighted the strong relationship between India and Vietnam and the growing tourism potential.

He confirmed that the Vietnamese government is considering a new visa policy to accommodate the influx of Indian visitors, as the country continues to strengthen its tourism ties with India.

India, with its vast population, plays a pivotal role in Vietnam's tourism plans.

Bien emphasized that Indian tourists are increasingly drawn to Vietnam, and the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries makes them an important market.

He noted that India has become one of the top five international source markets for Da Nang, a coastal city famed for its stunning beaches, Buddhist pagodas, and vibrant cultural heritage.

Huynh Thi Huong Lan, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, stressed that Da Nang is working diligently to adapt its services to meet the preferences of Indian travelers.

This includes refining service packages tailored to MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and wedding tourism.

The city has become a favored destination for Indian tourists, and the government is committed to making it more accessible and appealing to this growing market.

In 2024, Da Nang welcomed over 222,000 Indian visitors, accounting for 5.3% of the total international arrivals to the city and nearly 50% of all Indian visitors to Vietnam.

The number of Indian tourists visiting Da Nang has surged dramatically since 2019, growing more than 13.5 times.

This growth underscores the increasing popularity of Da Nang among Indian travellers, as the city offers a blend of natural beauty, cultural landmarks, and world-class resorts.

Da Nang, the third-largest city in Vietnam, has gained international recognition for its economic and cultural significance. It is considered a prime destination for both leisure and business tourism.

The city boasts beautiful beaches, luxury international resorts, and a thriving cultural scene.
