Thailand is set to globally expand its electronic visa (e-Visa) system, enabling travellers worldwide to apply online for entry into the country.
Beginning January 1, 2025, applicants from any location can complete the entire visa application process through the official website.
This initiative will activate the e-Visa system across all 94 Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates-General worldwide, streamlining the application process by reducing paperwork and incorporating advanced screening processes connected with international databases to enhance security and reliability.
The e-Visa system is designed to simplify and expedite the visa application process for tourists, business travelers, and other short-term visitors.
Applicants can create an account on the official website, complete the online form with the required details, attach necessary documentation, and securely pay the applicable fee.
Once approved, the e-Visa will be issued electronically, eliminating the need for in-person visits to Thai embassies or consulates.
This global rollout reflects Thailand's commitment to enhancing accessibility for international travelers and promoting tourism and business engagements by leveraging digital solutions to facilitate entry into the country.
