Travelers from Qatar, UAE, New Zealand, Australia, Israel, Japan, and other countries are now eligible to apply for the United Kingdom's Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). This new eligibility is part of the UK's efforts to streamline entry procedures and enhance security measures for visitors. The ETA system allows approved visitors to enter the UK for short stays, improving the travel experience while ensuring compliance with the nation's immigration rules.

Starting 5 March 2025, Europeans eligible for travel can start applying for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), which becomes a requirement for travel from 2 April 2025.

The ETA allows approved visitors entry into the UK. By April 2025, all non-visa visitors will be mandated to possess an ETA for UK entry.

Members of the Gulf Cooperation Council and qualified non-Europeans are already required to obtain an ETA for both entry and transit through the UK. European nationals can begin their applications from 5 March 2025 and must have the ETA by 2 April 2025.
