San Diego Port Invests in Clean Air with $5 Million Grant and Electric Equipment Expansion

The Port of San Diego is set to advance its clean air initiatives with a $5 million grant from the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District̢۪s Clean Air for All program. These funds will support electrical upgrades at the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal, enabling the integration of additional electric cargo handling equipment and aligning with the Port̢۪s Maritime Clean Air Strategy goals.

To complete the project, the Port will contribute a $6,009,232 match, sourced from the $59 million EPA Clean Ports Program grant awarded in October 2024. Together, the grant and matching funds bring the total project investment to over $11 million.
