The Oakland Board of Port Commissioners has appointed Kristi McKenney as the new executive director of the Port of Oakland, marking a historic milestone as the first woman to hold the position in the Port̢۪s 98-year history. Her appointment follows the upcoming retirement of Executive Director Danny Wan, effective February 28.
During its February 13 meeting, the Board unanimously approved a three-year contract for McKenney, recognizing her extensive experience and leadership within the Port.
An accomplished professional, McKenney holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics from San Jose State University.
The "Dead Sea Scrolls" exhibit, announced at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, features ancient Jewish manuscripts, plus the rarely seen Ten Commandments Scroll.
