In a significant move to boost tourism and economic ties, Malaysia has announced the extension of its 30-day visa-free entry policy for Indian nationals until December 31, 2026.

Record Tourist Numbers in 2024Data from the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Tourism Malaysia) highlights a record-breaking year for Indian arrivals in 2024.

From January to November, Malaysia welcomed over one million Indian tourists, a 47% increase compared to the pre-pandemic period of 2019 and an impressive 71.7% growth over 2023.

Expanded Connectivity Boosts TravelThe rise in Indian tourist numbers has been further supported by expanded air connectivity. In 2024, new routes from India were introduced, including daily direct flights by Indigo Airlines to Penang and Langkawi, complementing existing services to Kuala Lumpur.

With its scenic landscapes, diverse attractions, and simplified travel processes, Malaysia is poised to attract even more Indian travelers in the coming years.
