Météo-France has issued yellow weather alerts for snow and ice across 26 departments, urging residents to exercise caution during travel this weekend.
The affected areas include Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, and Alpes-Maritimes, among others.
The alert is in effect until at least 10 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, as temperatures are expected to drop to near-freezing levels.
The Massif Central is likely to experience early snowfall, particularly after midday, while eastern regions may encounter icy conditions later as temperatures dip.
They encourage checking real-time road conditions using available navigation apps before heading out.
As winter weather continues to affect significant parts of France, residents and travelers are advised to remain vigilant, plan their trips accordingly, and be prepared for potential delays or disruptions caused by the adverse conditions.
