The Natchez Convention Center, situated in the historic downtown of Natchez, Mississippi, is embarking on a significant multi-million dollar renovation project. This ambitious endeavor marks the most extensive upgrade in the center's history, aiming to rejuvenate and modernize the facility.
Currently in progress, the first phase of the renovation is centered on the 18,000-square-foot exhibit hall, the highlight of the 32,000-square-foot complex. This phase involves a complete overhaul, including fresh paint, new carpeting, intricate trim work, and enhanced wall coverings to create a sophisticated and modernized environment for events. The objective is to elevate both the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the convention center.
The renovation project is being led by local architect Johnny Waycaster, who originally designed the facility over two decades ago. Marjorie Feltus Hawkins of Feltus-Hawkins Design has played a crucial role in shaping the renovation plans, ensuring they capture the unique Natchez atmosphere.
