India's largest airline, IndiGo, is accelerating its global expansion with a new wet lease agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways for four aircraft, supporting long-haul operations out of India. The partnership aligns with India̢۪s growing aviation sector, backed by government initiatives such as the National Civil Aviation Policy (NCAP 2016) and the UDAN regional connectivity scheme.
Following an initial wet lease agreement for one aircraft, signed on February 6, 2025, Norse Atlantic has now confirmed an additional three aircraft for IndiGo. These aircraft are scheduled to enter service in the second half of 2025, supporting long-haul routes from India. The initial lease term is six months, with an option to extend up to 18 months, subject to regulatory approvals.
