Hyatt Advances Cloud Transition for Over 1,000 Hotels

Hyatt Hotels has announced a major upgrade to its technological infrastructure, with plans to transition over 1,000 properties to Oracle’s Opera Cloud property management system. This shift represents the second major software system Hyatt is moving to the cloud, reflecting the broader trend in the hospitality industry towards modernizing technology.

Transition to Oracle Opera Cloud

Hyatt’s recent move involves upgrading from the on-premises Oracle Opera V5 system to the cloud-based Oracle Opera Cloud. This transition will affect a substantial portion of Hyatt’s hotel operations, encompassing essential functions such as check-in and check-out, room assignments, and housekeeping management. The shift to Oracle Opera Cloud is part of Hyatt’s broader strategy to leverage cloud technology to streamline operations and enhance guest experiences.

The integration of Oracle’s cloud-based system is expected to bring numerous benefits. By adopting Oracle Opera Cloud, Hyatt aims to improve connectivity between various software tools and ensure regular updates are managed remotely. This modernization is anticipated to facilitate more efficient and flexible management of day-to-day hotel operations.

Adoption of Sabre’s SynXis Reservation System

In addition to the move to Oracle Opera Cloud, Hyatt is also transitioning to Sabre’s cloud-based SynXis central reservation system. This system will enable Hyatt’s hotels to manage reservations across multiple distribution channels more effectively. The dual shift to Oracle Opera Cloud and Sabre’s SynXis highlights Hyatt’s commitment to enhancing its technological capabilities and staying at the forefront of industry advancements.
