Eastern Cruise has officially launched operations in South Korea, marking the milestone with the maiden voyage of its ship, the Eastern Venus.

The inaugural cruise set sail on December 24, departing from Busan and making stops at Sasebo and Kagoshima in Japan.

The Christmas holiday voyage featured a range of festive activities, including carol performances, themed shows, and movie screenings.

Passengers also enjoyed DJ parties, encounters with Santa Claus, photo opportunities, and a gala dinner.

The Eastern Venus was adorned with holiday decorations, including a large Christmas tree, to create a festive onboard atmosphere.

Eastern Cruise hailed the successful voyage as the beginning of its regular cruise operations from Busan.

Starting in April, the company plans to expand its offerings with tailored itineraries for both domestic and international passengers.

Operated by Eastern Cruise, a subsidiary of DuWon Shipping, the launch represents a significant development for South Korea's cruise industry.

The Eastern Venus, designed as a traditional cruise ship rather than a ferry, provides a complete cruise experience with accommodations, dining, and leisure facilities.

The 700-guest vessel features various cabin types, restaurants, entertainment venues, a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a fitness center, and a duty-free shop.

Originally built for Venus Cruise, the 26,518-ton ship began service in 1998, catering to Japan's national cruise market for 25 years. Following its acquisition by DuWon Shipping in late 2023, the Eastern Venus is now poised to bring its rich cruising legacy to South Korean waters.
