Chef Jos̮̩ Andr̮̩s is taking on a new venture, expanding his already diverse portfolio into the hotel industry. The Jos̮̩ Andr̮̩s Group has revealed plans to open its first hotel, The Bazaar House by Jos̮̩ Andr̮̩s, located in Washington, D.C.'s prestigious Georgetown neighborhood. This 67-room luxury hotel, expected to open in 2027, will revitalize the historic former Latham Hotel.
The Bazaar House will feature a variety of high-end amenities, including several food and beverage venues designed by the JosÃÆé AndrÃÆés Group, exclusive event spaces, a wellness center, and luxury retail options. A highlight of the property will be the Bazaar Club, a private membership program offering exclusive perks, including access to a signature penthouse restaurant with breathtaking views of Georgetown. The hotel follows a trend of exclusive spaces in D.C., with venues like NedâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s Club launching near the White House in January.
Though AndrÃÆés stepped down as CEO of his namesake group in May, he remains executive chairman and a major creative force in the hospitality sector. The groupâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s extensive portfolio spans 20 brands, 40 restaurants, bars, and lounges, an Emmy-winning TV show, and a New York Times best-selling book. The project is being developed in partnership with Thor Equities, a global real estate firm with a track record of developing luxury hotels like the Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons. Thor Equities has been working to secure approvals for the property, which has been vacant since 2012, for the past seven years.
