Austrian Airlines Assists SWISS Passengers After Emergency Landing in Astana

Following an unscheduled stop in Astana due to a medical emergency, SWISS is receiving support from its affiliate, Austrian Airlines, which is dispatching a Boeing 777-200 to transfer stranded passengers to Vienna. The scheduled arrival time in Vienna is 10:15 a.m. (Zurich local time) on Sunday. From there, passengers will be rerouted to Zurich or their ultimate destinations. This measure ensures the swift continuation of travel for those onboard the initial Tokyo to Zurich flight and helps maintain the integrity of SWISS's flight schedule. Until their departure, affected passengers and crew will stay in hotels in Astana.

Meanwhile, the SWISS Boeing 777-300ER involved in the incident is undergoing an on-site inspection for any potential damage resulting from the emergency landing. Due to the aircraft's unavailability, SWISS has unfortunately had to delay tonight's and tomorrow morning's long-haul flights to Sao Paulo to the subsequent morning. Another long-haul flight scheduled for tomorrow midday will also face departure delays.
