Recently, China Oceanwide Holdings officially transferred about 44 acres of prime oceanfront land to California-based Kam Sang Co. Inc., marking a significant milestone toward establishing the first-ever Atlantis Resort in the United States.

The master-planned Ko Olina Resort area, currently about 50% developed, anticipates significant economic impact from this new development.

Kam Sang Co. Inc. has committed to being the lead developer for the Atlantis Resort, previously planned in partnership between Kerzner International and China Oceanwide. Besides the Atlantis brand, Kam Sang is also exploring other luxury hospitality brands such as the Regent, Mandarin Oriental, St. Regis, Waldorf Astoria, and Fairmont to maximize the site's potential.

Parallel to this, the nearby Paradise Cove Luau, a historic site adjacent to Ko Olina, is undergoing significant redevelopment through Cove Campbell Kobayashi LLC. The Cove project aims to revitalize the beloved luau and introduce a vibrant community hub featuring new restaurants, retail, cultural, and educational venues.

Hawaii Tourism Authority Chair Mufi Hannemann believes the introduction of Atlantis and revitalization of The Cove are crucial for West Oahu's tourism growth.
