Alstom Partners with Metrolink to Enhance Southern California's Rail Operations

Alstom, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility solutions, has secured a new contract with the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink) to oversee the operation, service, and maintenance of its regional passenger rail network. The contract, valued at approximately $515 million USD (€490 million EUR), spans a five-year period from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2030, and will engage more than 400 Alstom employees across Southern California. Additionally, the agreement includes an option for a three-year extension, potentially increasing the total contract value to $860 million USD (€817 million EUR).

Under the new contract, Alstom will continue providing maintenance services and take on full operational duties across Metrolink's extensive 545-mile service network. Starting July 1, 2025, over 200 Alstom employees will be mobilized to manage Metrolink's daily operations.

The scope of the contract includes train operations, fleet maintenance, crew management, customer service, and facilities upkeep, with the possibility of extending services to materials management. This agreement reinforces Alstom's position as the leading private provider of Operations and Maintenance services in North America.
