Stormy Daniels, an adult film star who has long been at the center of the politically motivated "hush money" case against former President Donald Trump, is afraid that she will be tried for "treason" if Trump wins re-election in January.
Payments to Daniels formed the basis of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's highly controversial "hush money" indictment of former President Trump, which resulted in a conviction from a deep blue jury earlier this year.
In order to charge Trump with 34 counts of "falsifying business records," Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg used COVID-era statutes to upgrade what would generally be misdemeanor bookkeeping charges to a felony. He then copy/pasted the same charge 34 times, resulting in 34 felony counts and a maximum prison sentence of 136 years.

The payment to Daniels served as the basis of the case, which was brought in an election year and long after Bragg's predecessor opted not to bring charges over the payment and voiced objections to Bragg's case.
"I don't think he necessarily hates me I think he hates the situation [I've put him in]," Daniels, who testified at Trump's trial," said in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. Trump's feelings aside, Daniels has remained firm in her hatred of the former president, who she frequently refers to as "tangerine Hitler."
"He doesn't want to be president. He wants to be king," the porn star told Rolling Stone. "He wants to sit on his gold-toilet throne and wear a fuckin' I don't know. I do hate him, in that way."
She went on to predict that the upcoming election will lead to "chaos" either way. "I'm sitting in this yard, and I'm thinking, 'My horses should be standing there,'" she added. "I should be looking at my daughter's pony. It's simple things like that, which are a reminder that I have to live this every day."
Daniels, who told the outlet that she is currently living in an RV, is still paying the former president's legal fees for a separate defamation case. She is currently touring with a stand-up comedy routine that focuses almost exclusively on her hatred of the former president.
The adult film store ultimately concluded that there is a "strong possibility" she will be prosecuted if Trump returns to the White House in January.
