Heavy equipment manufacturer Caterpillar is doing away with its  "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion" goals after significant pushback from customers.

According to a memo sent by Caterpillar executives to the company's employees, the company announced significant changes to its employee training programs. Going forward, all corporate training will be focused on business operations, while Human Resources employees will be required to obtain approval from senior executives before bringing in guest speakers or participating in external surveys.

The changes were announced after conservative activist Robby Starbuck revealed that he had been in contact with Caterpillar executives over their DEI policies. Starbuck cited significant pushback from customers against similar companies, including John Deere, Harley Davidson and others.

"Some highlights: no more woke trainings, no donations to divisive events. They will not participate in the [Human Rights Campaign's] Corporate Equality Index social credit system," Starbuck wrote in an X post.

In a follow-up video statement, Starbuck praised the changes and stated that they will "make work a little bit easier for everybody who is sick of having political ideology shoved down their throats."

Prior to the changes, Caterpillar was forcing employees to take "privilege quizzes" where they would grade themselves on how much "privilege" they wielded based on their personal circumstances and immutable characteristics such as race. Employees were also forced to sit through trainings on gender ideology and other LGBT issues in the workplace.

This will all be going away, however, as company executives explained in the email to employees.
