The Chicken Sandwich Wars of 2021 will heat up for National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day Tuesday.

Fast-food chains including McDonald's, Burger King and KFC have specials for the made-up food holiday, held annually on Nov. 9.

McDonald's released three new chicken sandwiches in February and Burger King rolled out its Ch'King chicken sandwich in June. KFC also added a new chicken sandwich this year.

The major chicken sandwich war was launched in August 2019, a week after Popeyes launched its New Orleans-style fried chicken sandwich, which was its first nationwide chicken sandwich. The chain then started a viral Twitter feud with Chick-fil-A and other restaurants.
