The Green Building Council of Australia is in the process of updating its interiors rating tool, with Green Star Fitouts expected to replace the current Green Star - Interiors tool in 2025.
The redevelopment process commenced in early 2023 with a consultation stage, which concentrated on establishing a clear vision and objectives for the revised tool. During this stage, a desire to drive more circular and responsible fitouts was identified, and as a result, the new rating tool will be focused on fitout design and construction, as well as de-fit.
A 'circular' category will be introduced as part of the assessment criteria, with the intention of shining a spotlight on projects that demonstrate how clever planning, design and construction can lead to better quality interiors and fitouts being reused, resulting in less waste.
The Green Building Council of Australia said the proposed tool has the potential to "drive supply chain transformation towards circularity," as well as achieve decarbonization targets.
The new Green Star Fitouts rating tool is anticipated to be open for registrations by early 2025. To find out more, visit the Green Building Council of Australia website.
The 2025 Jubilee will bring tourists to the Vatican, Rome and Italy to celebrate the Catholic tradition of patrons asking for forgiveness of sins. Hope will be a central theme.
